Sony Launches Qriocity iTunes Competitor
Sony Launches Qriocity - Sony officially launched its online music service providers dubbed Music Unlimited is powered by Qriocity. This service is claimed Sony ready rival competitors, iTunes, with about six million songs available for download.
Music Unlimited is powered by Qriocity cloud-based digital music service. Unlike iTunes, users do not buy and download songs. But the service is not available on portable devices, which means users can not take their music anywhere.
Music Unlimited service allows users to play music from a variety of Internet-connected devices like Sonys Bravia TVs, Blu-ray disc player, and PlayStation 3l
The service is started exhibitions in Ireland and England, and will be launched in the U.S., Canada, Australia, France, Germany, Italy, Spain and New Zealand in 2011.
"As we expand globally Qriocity, these services are in fact supported by Qriocity, offering ID to log in single and wallet solution, and make it easier for users to use content, including music and videos on a variety of devices integrated with each other," explained Kazuo Hirai as President Networked Products and Services Group Sony.
Initially, Sony announced their plans to fight on iTunes in November, with project name Sony Online Service. However, unexpectedly Sony change the plan, at some point in the future, to allow independent software developers to create applications for the service, such as the Apple iPhone App Store.

Sony launches Windows Phone 8 Mobile
